波能かなみ 「おわりは日曜日」

木版画をベースに様々な表現方法で作品を発表している波能かなみさんの個展です。
今回のメイン作品である水性木版画は、和紙に擦ることで生まれる色の滲みや重なりなどを使い、絵画的な表現をしています。同じ像を繰り返す、または再構成することで全く違う絵を作ることができるという版画の特性を生かし、版画ですがエディションを作らず、１点ものの作品として制作しています。木版で模様を擦った和紙を使い制作された張子などの立体作品なども同時に展示しています。

日常の感覚的な記憶、感触のピースを組み合わせ、「何かの行為をしているような人（もの）」を描いています。完成した作品は、もはや作家の意図や記憶に関係なく「絵」としての新しい存在になります。見たままの絵、それそのものを読むしかない心地よい理不尽さを楽しんでもらえたら嬉しいです。 波能かなみ

HANO Kanami Exhibition “The end is Sunday”
2023.4.1 sat – 4.9 sun

This is a solo exhibition of HANO Kanami , who presents her works using various methods of expression based on woodblock prints.
The main work in this exhibition, a water-based woodblock print, uses the blotting and overlapping of colors created by rubbing on Japanese paper to create a painterly expression. Taking advantage of the characteristics of printmaking, which allows the artist to create a completely different picture by repeating or reconstructing the same image, the work is a one-of-a-kind piece without an edition, although it is a print. The exhibition also includes three-dimensional works, such as papier-mâché, made from washi paper rubbed with woodblock prints.

The artist combines pieces of sensory memory and feeling from everyday life to depict “a person (or thing) that seems to be doing something. The completed work becomes a new existence as a “picture” regardless of the artist’s intention or memory any longer. I hope you enjoy the pleasant unreasonableness of the picture as you see it, which can only be read as itself.
