南房総白浜にて陶を素材に制作する角橋俊さんの個展を開催します。
イギリスで陶芸と出会い制作をはじめた角橋さんの作品は、形と線と色を構成した大胆な作品です。
のびやかな自由さが魅力ですが、自由がゆえの難しさと格闘しているかのように思えます。
制作に行き詰まった時の手本は自然なのかもしれません。海が至近距離の生活から生まれた作品たちが水犀に並びます。

行き当たりばったり。
こうしようと思って作った後、すぐ気が変わって形や絵を変える。ずっとその繰り返し。
それで結局一番難しいのが、何もない最初。
気が変わり過ぎて、じゃあそもそも何をやりたいのか分からなくなる時がある。
「最初」を超えていく時、好きって言葉だけじゃカバーできない、土を触った時の感触がずっと今まで背中を押してくれている気がする。

We are pleased to present a solo exhibition of KADOHASHI Shun, who works with ceramics in Shirahama, Minami-Boso.
KADOHASHI, who first encountered ceramics in England, creates bold works composed of shapes, lines, and colors.
His works have an appealing, uninhibited freedom, but they also seem to struggle with the difficulties that come with that freedom.
Perhaps nature is a model for him when he is stuck in his work. The works born from his life in close proximity to the sea will be on display at the water rhinoceros.

Haphazard. After making something, I immediately change my mind and change the shape or the picture. I keep repeating the same thing over and over.
In the end, the most difficult part is at the beginning when there is nothing.
Sometimes I change my mind so much that I don’t know what I want to do in the first place.
When I go beyond the “beginning,” the word “love” is not enough to cover it, and I feel that the feeling I get when I touch the clay has always been pushing me forward.

2011年　イギリス滞在時、セラミック作家のSandy Brownと出会い、昔絵が好きだったことを思い出し、現地で 制作を始める。
帰国後、国内外で作ったものを発表。千葉県在住
