長野県に吹きガラス工房STUDIO PREPAを構え、確かな技術と細やかな感覚で活躍している二人。思い描いたあらゆるディテールを仕上げるため、デザインから制作まで全ての行程を自らの手で行っています。作品はシンプルで、機能や素材感を素直に表しています。
今回の展示では、森林や湖からインスピレーションを受けた、水や山の季節の移ろいをテーマにした透明感あるオブジェや器などの作品を制作してくれました。
水を表現したオブジェや樹木の表情をガラスに写し取った作品は平勝久さんの作品。カラフルな色で森林をオマージュした作品は平瑞穂さんの作品です。二人の作品の美しいコントラストをお楽しみいただければと思います。

水。地球における継続的な水の循環。
固まったり、液体になったり、気体になって空高く上ったり。
生物、植物の中を巡ったり、組成として石やガラスの中にとどまったり。
水一分子の最も長い旅は10,000年以上かけて巡ります。

HIRA Katsuhisa & Mizuho Exhibition “Forests and Lakes”

The duo has established STUDIO PREPA, a glassblowing studio in Nagano Prefecture, where they are active with their reliable techniques and meticulous sensibility. In order to finish every detail as envisioned, they do everything from design to production by their own hands. Their work is simple and straightforward, expressing function and materiality.
For this exhibition, he created transparent objects and vessels inspired by forests and lakes, and based on the theme of water and the changing seasons in the mountains. Objects representing water and works that capture the expression of trees on glass were created by HIRA Katsuhisa. The work that pays homage to forests with colorful colors is by HIRA Mizuho. We hope you enjoy the beautiful contrast between the two artists’ works.

Water. The continuous cycle of water on Earth.
It solidifies, becomes liquid, or gases and rises into the sky.
It travels through living organisms and plants, or stays in stones and glass as a composition.
The longest journey of a single molecule of water takes more than 10,000 years.
