澤田麟太郎・野中麟太郎 「ふたりの麟太郎」

陶芸家の澤田麟太郎さんと野中麟太郎さんの二人展です。
澤田さんは岩手県釜石市を拠点に活動しています。様々な釉薬を器に詰め、釉薬の膨張での割れや溢れ、また、焼成後に自ら割ったりと、器に釉薬を満たすことで起きる現象を表現として作品を生み出しています。 野中さんは、岐阜県土岐市を拠点に活動しています。半磁器で形成された中心にある器的な部分の周囲に、粘土の原石と水溶性粘土を用いて、パートドヴェールの技術を応用し、制作しています。

二人の制作プロセスは、共に器のようなものから派生し、そこへ釉薬や粘土の原石などを組み合わせ、焼成後に削ったり割ったりとさらなるアプローチが加えられます。完成した形は大きく違いますが、実験的な試みを繰り返し、複雑な工程を経て生まれた二人の作品をぜひご覧ください。

2重3重構造の今作は、あらゆる外的内的な要素によって揺るがされる精神が実態のない外的要因と混じるとどうなるのか。私に見立てた芯材となる半磁器とこの技法の不可抗力によるバランスが今作品を生み出しています。
不可抗力と私、外的環境との関係性から形造られる様を落とし込みました。

SAWADA Rintaro & NONAKA Rintaro “Two Rintaro”

This is a two-person exhibition by ceramic artists Rintaro Sawada and Rintaro Nonaka.
Mr. Sawada is based in Kamaishi City, Iwate Prefecture. He fills his vessels with various glazes and creates works that express the phenomena that occur when he fills the vessels with glaze, such as cracks and overflows caused by the expansion of the glaze, or cracks himself after firing. Nonaka is based in Toki City, Gifu Prefecture. He applies the technique of pate de verre, using clay gemstones and soluble clay around a central vessel-like part formed of semi-polished porcelain.

The two artists’ production processes are both derived from the vessel-like object, which is then combined with glazes and clay gemstones, and further approaches are added after firing, such as scraping and breaking. Although the finished forms are very different, we invite you to view their works, which are the result of repeated experimentation and complex processes.

This work is a double- and triple-layered structure, which asks what happens when the spirit, which is shaken by all kinds of external and internal elements, mixes with external factors that have no reality. This work is created by the balance between the semi-polished porcelain that serves as the core material, which is likened to myself, and the irresistible force of this technique.
I have incorporated the relationship between the force majeure, myself, and the external environment into this work.
