素焼きの状態に染付呉須（絵具）で細い筆を使い線描きします。「葡萄と栗鼠の組合せは、豊穣の意味があります。洋風な感じもしますが、意外に中国や日本の古い工芸品に良くみられる図柄です。」
I draw lines on the unglazed pottery with a fine brush in dyed Gosu (pigments). The combination of grapes and squirrels is a symbol of fertility.
