陶や木、鉄などのミクストメディア立体作品や、絵画作品を制作する奈良県在住のアーティスト川井ミカコさんの個展を開催します。
突き抜けた感性で作られる作品は、心にずっしりと響き、この世でもあの世でもない不思議な世界に連れていかれてしまいます。そしてミカコさんの作品と対峙するときはいつも、ドキドキしてしまいます。
2020年4月に開催予定だったこの個展。　まだまだ、落ち着かない世の中ですが今回開催できることをとても嬉しく思います。

作品を作る時必ずそこには彼らがいます。人でもなく、動物でもなく、植物でもなく、生物でもなく、モノでもなく、そのどれでもない、
いや全部当てはまる、言葉にできない、何でもないそこにあるものとして彼らは存在します。

A solo exhibition by Nara-based artist Mikako Kawai, who creates mixed-media sculptures and paintings using ceramics, wood, and iron.

The works created with a penetrating sensibility resonate deeply in our hearts and take us to a mysterious world that is neither of this world nor the other world.
This solo exhibition was scheduled to be held in April 2020.　The world is still in a state of unrest, but I am very happy to be able to hold this exhibition.

Whenever I create a work of art, there they are. They are not people, animals, plants, organisms, things, or any of the above, but they are there as something that cannot be put into words, something that is nothing.

大学で、美術の基本を学んだ後メキシコ留学。焼物、木、鉄など複合素材の作品で、現代美術家として、国内はもとより、ハワイ、韓国、ドイツ、イギリスなどで個展、グループ展多数開催。店舗デザイン、公共造形プロデュースなど幅広く活動。また、いろんなジャンルの人とのユニット作品展も積極的に展開している。
実は混沌とするカテゴリーというところに居場所を求めている。

Studied abroad in Mexico after studying the basics of fine art in university. Has participated in numerous private and group exhibitions in Japan, Hawaii, South Korea, Germany, the United Kingdom, and other locations as a modern artist who produces works using a combination of materials, such as pottery, wood, and iron. Conducts a wide range of activities, including store design and production of public sculptures. Proactively engages in group exhibitions with artists from a variety of genres.
Actually seeks a place of belonging within the category of chaos.
