個展 「ワタシノカケラ」

漫画、ドローイング、陶板絵と幅広い活動をしているメグマイルランドさんの個展です。今回の展示は陶板絵。陶の上を走るドローイングのスピード感がとても心地よいです。陶というメディアだからこそのドライな質感を生かした壁掛け作品。壁に飾り楽しんでいただければと思います。

こんなこと言うとあれだけど、言ってしまうけれど、陶板はいずれ我が邸宅の壁や床、塀や庭石になるためのpartsに過ぎません。作品というよりは至極当然、つくりつづけ、つくりためていくものなのです。ではなぜ展覧会をするかというと、もしもそれが誰かのどこかの隙間にぴたりとハマるのならば、私はそのためにこそつくったのだと、その時初めて知れるだろうから。そしてきっと、その行く末を私は追わないし、追えはしない。ワタシノカケラが世界の秘密となって時を経ていくかもしれない可能性を想うと、夢のように幸せなのです。

Ceramic exhibition “Piece of me””

This is a solo exhibition by MGUMIRELAND, who has a wide range of activities including cartoons, drawings, and ceramic board paintings. This exhibition features her ceramic board drawings. The speed of the drawings running on the ceramic is very comfortable. The dry texture of her work is a result of the medium of ceramics. We hope you will enjoy them on the wall.

I know it sounds strange to say this, but the ceramic panels are merely parts that will eventually become the walls, floors, fences, and garden stones of my mansion. Rather than a work of art, it is something that I will continue to make and accumulate as a matter of course. The reason why I am holding an exhibition is because if it fits into a gap somewhere, then I will know for the first time that this is exactly why I made it. And I am sure that I will not and cannot follow where it goes. When I think of the possibility that a piece of me may become the world’s secret and pass through time, I am as happy as if it were a dream.

漫画家、画家、イラストレーター。小学生時代を佐賀で過ごし、その記憶を元に描いた漫画作品『水辺のできごと』が文化庁メディア芸術祭推薦作品に選出される。他、自主制作など多数。

漫画の他、ドローイングや陶板など作っています。

MGUMIRELAND
Manga artist, painter, illustrator. He spent his elementary school days in Saga, and his manga “Mizube no Koto”, based on his memories of the area, was selected as a recommended work for the Japan Media Arts Festival. He has also produced many other independent works.

In addition to cartoons, I make drawings and ceramic panels.
