水元かよこ「とびこえろ」

金沢近郊にアトリエを構え、セラミックアーティストとして活動している水元かよこさんの個展です。
加賀友禅の工房で彩色、九谷焼の窯元で絵付けを学んだ経験を生かし、古典の表現を大切にしながらも、絵付けのモチーフや、作品の形態を独創的に創作しています。
今展のタイトル「とびこえろ」は、日常と非日常、過去や未来、性別、国境、価値観、様々な境界を超えたいという思いからつけられました。
カラフルな色絵、赤絵、モノトーンの絵付けなどのポップで不思議な水元さんの世界をぜひご覧ください。　

日常のどこかに非日常への入り口があります。日常にこそファンタジーが存在すると思っています。生活に使う器を奇怪な形状にしたり、少し不思議な絵付けをすることによって今いる場所、それぞれの手の中、心の内側に世界は広がっているというメッセージを込めて制作しています。

This is a solo exhibition of MIZUMOTO Kayoko, a ceramic artist with a studio in the suburbs of Kanazawa.br> She has studied coloring at a Kaga Yuzen studio and painting at a Kutaniyaki pottery, and while placing importance on classical expressions, she creates original motifs for painting and forms for her works. The title of this exhibition, “Tobikoero (jump over)” was inspired by the artist’s desire to transcend various boundaries, such as the everyday and the extraordinary, the past and the future, gender, national borders, and values.
Please come and see MIZUMOTO’s pop and mysterious world of Kutani overglaze., red porcelain, and monotone porcelain.　

Somewhere in everyday life there is a gateway to the extraordinary. I believe that fantasy exists in the everyday. By creating strange shapes for everyday vessels and painting them in a slightly mysterious manner, I express the message that the world is expanding in the place where we are now, in our hands, and in our hearts.
