竹内真吾・Yuma Yoshimura “over and over again”

陶芸家の竹内真吾さんと、美術作家のYuma Yoshimuraさんの二人展を開催します。 竹内さんは陶、Yoshimuraさんはアルミニウムや木、炭などを使用して制作しています。

竹内さんは水犀では２回目の展示です。前回よりも荒い土を使用することにより、シャープな造形美を残しつつも、プリミティブな表現となっています。 Yuma Yoshimuraさんは、学生時代リトグラフで作品制作していましたが、擦らずに版そのもので表現することに興味を覚え、原始美術や古代の建造物、遺跡、装飾品などからの影響を受け、それらを自身の原風景と重ね、作品に落とし込んでいます。

二人共に、エッジの効いた作品でありながら、原始的な要素を感じる作品となっています。 使う素材も表現方法も違う二人の今までの積み重ねから生まれた力強い作品をご覧ください。 作家プロフィール profile　〉

Shingo Takeuchi・Yuma Yoshimura Group Show “Over and over again”

We are pleased to present a two-person exhibition of ceramic artist Shingo Takeuchi and fine artist Yuma Yoshimura. Mr. Takeuchi works with ceramics, while Mr. Yoshimura works with aluminum, wood, charcoal, and other materials.

This is Takeuchi’s second exhibition at mizusai. By using rougher clay than in the previous exhibition, Takeuchi’s work has a primitive expression while retaining a sharp formative beauty. Yuma Yoshimura, who used to make lithographs when he was a student, has developed an interest in expressing himself with the plate itself without rubbing, and is influenced by primitive art, ancient buildings, ruins, and ornaments.

Both artists’ works are edgy and yet have a sense of primitive elements. Please enjoy the powerful works born from the accumulation of their different materials and methods of expression.

Yuma Yoshimura
1980 Born in Tokyo.
He received a B.F.A from the Department of Painting, Tama Art University in 2004, and currently lives and works in Tokyo, Japan.
His main solo exhibitions include: ”In-to-You” (2011/ A Word of Art/ Cape Town), “The Burning Silence” (2013/ Montana Gallery/ Barcelona), “beyond the shapes”(2017/ Calm&Punk Gallery/ Tokyo), And “ushirotoka-mukanai” (2022/ TAKU SOMETANI GALLERY/ Tokyo)
He started to operate the alternative space ‘’MONO.LOGUES’’ in 2021.
