田中 彰　個展　「岩礁」

茨城県の那珂湊を拠点に国内外をフィールドワークしながら木版画を制作している田中彰さん。
今年の6月に水犀で開催した個展期間中に制作した「岩礁」のお披露目の展示となります。182cmx242cmの和紙に刷られたとても大きな力作です。残念ながら前回の会期中には間に合わず完成した状態をご覧いただけませんでした。今回は蛸や烏賊の新作の版画と共に展示しました。
さまざま生物や月の満ち欠けなど、私たちが生きている宇宙を凝縮したような世界観の作品です。

引き潮、生命の痕跡、犬型の海藻、海と陸を行き来する新たな地層

2022年6月、展示期間中に公開制作として最終日の夕方に摺りあがった新たな地層。画面下の８枚の昆布は分割された版木の数を現すと同時に、制作された日にち、時間の蓄積を表しています。

TANAKA Sho Solo Exhibition “Rocks and Reefs”
2022.12.3 sat – 12.11 sun

Based in Nakaminato, Ibaraki Prefecture, Akira Tanaka creates woodblock prints while conducting fieldwork in Japan and abroad.
This is the first exhibition of “Rocks and Reefs,” a very large work printed on 182cm x 242cm Japanese paper, which was created during his solo exhibition at Mizusai in June 2006. Unfortunately, we were not able to show the completed work during the last exhibition. This time, it was exhibited together with new prints of octopus and squid.
This work is a condensed version of the universe in which we live, including various living creatures and the phases of the moon.

A new stratum was printed on the last evening of June 2022 as a public production during the exhibition. The eight kelps at the bottom of the screen represent the number of woodblocks divided, and at the same time, the date of creation and the accumulation of time. TANAKA Sho
