市橋美佳 「糖蜜の井戸から」

岐阜県揖斐郡に工房を構え中部圏を中心に活動している市橋美佳さん。糖蜜画と名付けられた陶板の壁掛け作品や白を基調とした造形的な花器、鳴り物(鈴)、dollという人形シリーズと市橋さんの世界を堪能出来る展示となっています。今展のメインである糖蜜画は、「不思議の国のアリス」の糖蜜の井戸に住む三姉妹の話から着想を得ています。物語の重層的な世界観と、いくつかの釉薬を掛け分けし、その上に上絵を何度も焼くという複雑な制作過程を重ねています。円や直線で構成された作品は浮遊感や奥行きを表現しています。白を基調とした花器は、マットや艶のある釉薬を使い分け、カタマリの浮遊感と安定などをイメージして制作しています。東京では初の個展となります。


糖蜜の井戸の底に住む三姉妹のことを、いつからか気にするようになっていた。もっというと、気になっていたのは三人が習っていたという、糖蜜で描いた絵の方だった。 『不思議の国のアリス』の中で、ねずみが話す糖蜜の井戸に住む三姉妹のお話に、アリスは納得ができず怒ってそのお茶会を出ていくという場面がある。ここで、わたしは何度読んでも大抵そこでページが止まって、頭の中は毎度同じ方へと脱線していく。糖蜜の井戸から奥に広がる世界と、彼女たちの描く絵というものをぼんやり想像して、しばらく勝手気ままに味わっていた。 それ以降の物語は、実はまだあまりよく知らない。ただ、お話の中の、話されているお話の、絵の中のお話…と私の中でその先の世界の層がいくつも重なって、それを描いてみたくなった。

ICHIHASHI Mika Ceramic Exhibition “From a treacle-well”

ICHIHASHI Mika has a studio in Ibi-gun, Gifu Prefecture, and is active mainly in the Chubu region. The exhibition features a ceramic wall-hanging work named “Molasses Painting,” a white-based figurative flower vase, a bell, and a doll series, allowing visitors to fully enjoy the world of Ms. Ichihashi. The main work in this exhibition, a molasses painting, is inspired by the story of three sisters living in a molasses well in “Alice in Wonderland”. The work combines the multilayered world of the story with the complex production process of applying several different glazes and repeatedly firing overglazes on top of the glaze. His works composed of circles and straight lines express a sense of floating and depth. Vases based on white are created with different matte and glossy glazes, evoking a sense of floating form and stability. This will be his first solo exhibition in Tokyo.

I had been wondering about the three sisters who lived at the bottom of the molasses well for sometime. More to the point, I was more interested in the molasses drawings that the three sisters had learned to make. In “Alice in Wonderland,” there is a scene in which Alice leaves the tea party in anger because she is not satisfied with the story of the three sisters living in the molasses well told by the mouse. This is where the page usually stops, no matter how many times I read the book, and my mind always wanders off in the same direction. I was imagining the world that spreads out from the well of molasses and the pictures that the girls draw, and I was savoring them at my own leisure for a while. In fact, I still don’t know much about the story after that. But the stories in the stories, the stories being told, the stories in the pictures… and the layers of the world beyond that overlapped in my mind, and I wanted to try to draw them.

生活用品の企画デザインの仕事を経て、多治見市陶磁器意匠研究所を修了。
独立し器の制作を続ける。
その後、糖蜜画や鳴リモノなども制作し発表する。
2021年、俳人鈴木しづ子の俳句と共に作品集を刊行。

After working in planning and designing household goods, completed the Tajimi City Ceramic Design Institute. After graduating from the Tajimi City Ceramic Design Institute, she became independent and continued to produce pottery. Later, she also produced and exhibited molasses paintings and narimono. In 2021, she published a collection of her works with haiku by Shizuko Suzuki.
