佐藤健太さんと佐藤和美さんは茨城県笠間市で佐藤陶房という工房名で活動している陶芸家です。
釉薬を使わず土のみで作り出される表情にこだわり、経験を生かし工夫されたガス窯を使った、独自の長時間焼成によって生み出された質感がとても魅力的な作品です。
土だけで作り出されたとは思えないほど色や質感はバラエティ豊かです。造形的な形とのバランスの取り方も絶妙です。
この数年のお二人の時の流れへの思いを込めて制作した花器や器などの作品をお楽しみください。


時が刻まれた風貌。そこにある無口な物語が、なんだか愛おしくて。

SATO Kenta & SATO Kazumi ceramic exhibition “Quiet Stories”
2022.12.3 sat – 12.11 sun

SATO Kenta and SATO Kazumi are potters working under the studio name Sato Toubou in Kasama City, Ibaraki Prefecture.
They are particular about the expression created by using only clay without glaze, and their works have a very attractive texture created by their unique long-hour firing process using a gas kiln, which they devised based on their experience.
The colors and textures are so varied that it is hard to believe that they were created using only clay. The way they balance the figurative shapes is also exquisite.
We hope you enjoy the vases and other works created by the two artists over the past few years as they reflect on the passage of time.

1981年　東京商船大学(現東京海洋大学)卒業　広告代理店に勤務
1992年　東京でフリーランスで広告を制作しながら笠間に拠点を設ける
1996年　茨城県東茨城郡城里町に築窯、作陶を開始
2010年　現在地に移転

1981 Graduated from Tokyo University of Mercantile Marine (now Tokyo University of Marine Science and Technology) Worked for an advertising agency
1992 While working as a freelance advertisement producer in Tokyo, established a base in Kasama.
1996 Builds a kiln in Jori-machi, Higashi-Ibaraki-gun, Ibaraki Prefecture, and begins making pottery.
2010 Moved to current location
