TAKISHITA Tatsushi Solo exhibition “Hear the voice”
2022.12.17sat – 12.25sun

This year’s exhibition features a wide range of works, from large sculptures made of wood to vases and flower vases.
TAKISHITA Tatsushi quit his job as an architectural designer in 2016 and began working as an artist, choosing wood as his medium of choice. This is my sixth year,” he said. I’m starting to understand the material of wood a little better now. That is why I need to listen to the voice of wood carefully now. This is why the title of this exhibition is “Hear the voice”.
In his studio, which is just a tent in a corner of a field near his parents’ home in Ibaraki Prefecture, he continues to earnestly confront trees and create works every day.
TAKISHITA’s works, whether figurative sculptures, vases, or containers, are all created with the same awareness, so there is no sense of boundary between what is useful and what is not. The charm of his work lies in the fact that it can be transformed in various ways depending on the user’s perspective.

Hear the voice
The voice of nature is not just something you listen for.
but also when you strike your own reason with all your might.
When you put all your energy into your reason, you will hear it for the first time.
As I repeat this, I feel that I am becoming one with nature.
I feel that I am becoming one with nature.
