木という自然素材を用いて立体作品を手がける滝下達さんの水犀で２回目となる個展です。 テーマは「あはひ（あわい）」自然とクリエーションの間にあるもの。 素材である木の持つパワーを、取り込んだ作品になっています。 滝下さんの視点から生まれた新たなかたちを、 ぜひお楽しみください。 ⁡

あはひ
「あはひ」は古語で「物と物のあいだ」や「境界」を意味します。そこは、分かつ線であると同時に、重なりや揺らぎ、移ろいの生まれる曖昧な場所でもあります。
私は茨城の田舎、自然に囲まれた屋外の制作環境で、木を素材に立体作品をつくっています。 自然の一部を間借りするように制作する中で、人と自然、異なる理どうしがぶつかり合いながら、少しずつ折り合いを見つけていく過程に、共存のかたちが現れてくると感じています。
本展では、「自然と人」「過去と未来」「生と死」といった対になるもののあいだにひそむ「あはひ」に目を向けました。
形の奥にある気配や静かな関係性にも、そっと目を向けていただけたら幸いです。

TAKISHITA Tatsushi Solo exhibition “Ahahi”

This is the second solo exhibition of TAKISHITA Tatsushi, who creates three-dimensional works using wood as a natural material.
The theme is ‘Ahahi (Awai),’ referring to the subtle space between nature and creation. The works incorporate the inherent power of the wood as a material.
We hope you will enjoy the new forms born from TAKISHITA’s perspective at mizusai.

Ahahi
‘Ahahi’ is an ancient term that means ‘the space between things’ or ‘boundary.’ It is both a dividing line and an ambiguous place where overlaps, fluctuations, and transitions occur.
I create three-dimensional works using wood as a material in an outdoor environment surrounded by nature in rural Ibaraki. As I produce my works by borrowing a part of nature, I feel that, through the collision of humans and nature, as well as differing principles, a process of gradually finding harmony emerges, revealing forms of coexistence.
In this exhibition, I focused on the ‘ahahi’ hidden between pairs of opposites such as ‘nature and humans,’ ‘past and future,’ and ‘life and death.’
I would be grateful if you could gently observe the presence and quiet relationships that lie behind the shapes.
