堀 貴春 HORI Takaharu / HTH-4白蟲・マグカップ　カブトムシ

カップの口元は丸ですが、本体は上から見ると四角形になっており、カブトムシのドシッとした力強さを表現したカップです。カブトムシは角のインパクトが強く見過ごされやすいですが、実は前脚がとてもかっこいい。そのようなかっこよさと力強さを表現した持ち手です。
作品は全て鋳込み技法で制作しています。土で原型を作り、パーツごとに石膏で型取りし石膏型を作り、磁器の泥漿を流し込みパーツを作ります。パーツを組み立て、釉薬をかけて焼成してます。

The mouth of the cup is round, but the body of the cup is rectangular when viewed from above, expressing the strength of the beetle. Beetles are easily overlooked because of the strong impact of their horns, but in fact, their front legs are very cool. This handle expresses such coolness and strength.
All of his works are created using the casting technique. A mold is made of clay, each part is molded in plaster, a plaster mold is made, and porcelain slip is poured into the mold to make each part. The parts are assembled, glazed, and fired.
