経塚筒をイメージして土で型で作り、その型を写し取ることで作品を生み出しています。経塚筒とは、平安時代後期から鎌倉時代にかけて盛んに築かれた「経塚」に、仏教経典を納めるために用いられた筒形の容器です。
花器としてもお使いいただけます。ご使用の際は、おとしをご利用ください。
The work is created by imagining a kyōzukazutsu (sutra container), forming a mold in clay, and then taking an impression from it. A kyōzukazutsu is a cylindrical vessel used to enshrine Buddhist scriptures within kyōzuka (sutra mounds), which were widely constructed from the late Heian to the Kamakura period.
It can also be used as a flower vessel; when doing so, please use an inner container.
