［布地見本帳に混合技法（テンペラ・油樹脂絵具併用）］
ギリシャ・ローマ時代の壁画に見られる「走る犬」の図像を借り、現代的に再解釈した作品です。ラテン語の "Accipe quam primum. brevis est occasio lucri." は、「機会をできる限り早くつかめ。利益の時は短い」という意味を持ちます。テーラーの布地見本帳に収められた布地の上に、テンペラ絵具と油絵具で描いています。クラシカルな布地と、狩猟犬を思わせる躍動感ある犬の姿が重なり合い、古き良きヨーロッパの空気を漂わせています。

額は大地堂のオーダー品です。

A prickly pear cactus is painted in tempera and oil paint directly onto the fabric samples contained in a tailor’s swatch book. While grounded in hatching—a classical painting technique that builds volume through the accumulation of short strokes—the work employs what the artist calls a “micro-mosaic painting” approach (a coined term) in order to combine artisanal precision with a pop sensibility. The cactus spines, rendered in vivid yellow-green and gold, lend the piece an impression that is both charming and sumptuous.
The frame is a custom-made piece by Daichidō.
