［布地見本帳に混合技法（テンペラ・油樹脂絵具併用）］
テーラーの布地見本帳に収められた布地の上に、テンペラ絵具と油絵具でウチワサボテンを描いています。古典絵画の技法であるハッチング（短いストロークの集積で量感を表す手法）を基盤にしながら、職人的な緻密さとポップな印象を併せ持たせるため、「マイクロモザイク画」（造語）の手法で描いています。鮮やかな黄緑色とゴールドで描かれたサボテンの棘が愛らしくも華やかな印象です。
額は大地堂のオーダー品です。

[Mixed media on fabric swatch book (tempera and oil-resin paint)]
A prickly pear cactus is painted in tempera and oil paint directly onto the fabric samples contained in a tailor’s swatch book. While grounded in hatching—a classical painting technique that builds volume through the accumulation of short strokes—the work employs what the artist calls a “micro-mosaic painting” approach (a coined term) in order to combine artisanal precision with a pop sensibility. The cactus spines, rendered in vivid yellow-green and gold, lend the piece an impression that is both charming and sumptuous.
The frame is a custom-made piece by Daichidō.
