［板に地塗り金箔、混合技法（テンペラ・油樹脂絵具併用）］
この作品は、パンデミック後の混沌という「沼地」から、懸命に這い上がろうとする現代の人の姿をテンペラ絵具と油絵具で重ね描いています。額に入れた文字はラテン語の格言で、"DUM SPIRO SPERO" 「生きている限り、希望は失われない」という意味です。　

額装は自作のイコン形式で仕立てています。イコンとは「図像」を意味し、欧州美術史における携帯型絵画の源流となった形式です。足場板を手彫りで成形し、白亜地塗り鏡面仕上げの上に水箔を施し、瑪瑙磨きと古美加工を行っています。

This work depicts a contemporary figure struggling to crawl out of the “swamp” of chaos that followed the pandemic, rendered through layered applications of tempera and oil paint. The inscription set within the frame is a Latin maxim: “DUM SPIRO SPERO,” meaning “While I breathe, I hope.”

The piece is presented in a self-made icon-style frame. The icon—literally meaning “image”—is a format that stands at the origin of portable painting in European art history. The frame is hand-carved from reclaimed scaffolding boards, finished with a mirror-smooth chalk ground, overlaid with water-applied gold leaf, and completed with agate burnishing and antiquing.
