「糖蜜画」と題された本作は、陶板に表装を施した作品です。上部には和紙、下部のストライプにはアンティークの浴衣地を用い、窓越しに見る風景をイメージしています。このシリーズは、『不思議の国のアリス』の物語から着想を得て始まりました。釉薬のかけ分けや漆蒔き焼成などの上絵技法を幾重にも重ね、何度も焼成を繰り返すことで、層のような深みと絵画的な表情が生まれています。糖蜜画を含む一連の作品は、重ねられた技法や素材、記憶や物語を通して、重層していく世界観を思索しています。
Titled "Sugar Syrup Painting", this piece is a ceramic panel adorned with layered surface materials. The upper section features washi paper, while the striped lower portion incorporates antique yukata fabric, evoking a view seen through a window. This series was originally inspired by the story of Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland. Through the repeated layering of decorative techniques—such as partial glazing and urushimaki (a method involving lacquer and overglaze firing)—and multiple firings, a richly stratified, painterly expression emerges. The Sugar Syrup Painting series contemplates a multilayered worldview, shaped by accumulated techniques, materials, memories, and narrative.
