ハーディーガーディーは実在する古楽器ですが、この作品では「こんな楽器があれば」という想いから描いた独自意匠の幻想楽器として表現しています。歌曲『フィガロの結婚』の一場面を挿入し、ネックの装飾は螺鈿を意識しています。
水彩紙にインクと水彩絵具で描いています。
額はイタリアのアンティークです。

[Ink and watercolor on paper
The hurdy-gurdy is an existing early musical instrument, but in this work it is depicted as an imaginary instrument with an original design, inspired by the idea of “what if such an instrument existed.” A scene from the opera The Marriage of Figaro is incorporated, and the decoration on the neck is conceived with mother-of-pearl in mind.
The work is rendered in ink and watercolor on watercolor paper.
The frame is an Italian antique.
