水田典寿 MIZUTA Norihisa / MN-19 流木の山犬

流木の自然な形を生かして彫り出された山犬。
瞳には古い電球が用いられ、台座には家具の一部を、山犬と台座をつなぐ部分には鉄棚の受けを使用しています。異なる役割を持っていた素材が一つの存在として結ばれています。凛とした佇まいの中に、どこか優しさを感じさせる瞳が印象的な作品です。

A mountain dog carved to bring out the natural form of driftwood.
An old light bulb is used for the eyes, a fragment of furniture forms the base, and iron shelf brackets connect the mountain dog to its pedestal. Materials that once served different purposes are brought together as a single presence. The work’s dignified stance is complemented by eyes that convey a gentle warmth, leaving a lasting impression.
