「空蝉（うつせみ）」とは、抜け殻となった蝉を表す言葉であり、儚さや残された気配を象徴しています。内側をバーナーで焼き、アクリルメディウムに土と墨汁を混ぜたものを塗って仕上げました。外側は鉄媒染によって落ち着いた濃淡の灰色に染め分けられ、一部をさらに焼き、質感を表現しています。落としを入れることで、植物を生ける花器としてもお使いいただけます。
“Utsusemi”(empty shell of existence) r refers to the empty shell of a cicada, symbolizing transience and the quiet presence left behind. The interior is burned with a torch and finished with a combination of black ink and soil. The exterior is dyed in soft, subdued shades of gray using an iron mordant, with some areas further burned to add texture and depth. By placing a glass insert inside, the piece can also be used as a vessel for arranging plants.
