「空蝉（うつせみ）」とは、抜け殻となった蝉を表す言葉であり、儚さや残された気配を象徴しています。木灰で染色し、仕上げには亜麻仁油を用いています。使用した木灰は、制作過程で出た木屑を燃やして得たもので、素材の循環もこの作品の一部となっています。過去と現在、不在と存在が、一つのかたちに共存する状態を表現した作品です。落としをを入れることで、植物を生ける花器としてもお使いいただけます。
"Utsusemi"(empty shell of existence) r refers to the empty shell of a cicada, symbolizing fleetingness and the lingering presence of something that is no longer there. The piece is dyed with wood ash, and finished with linseed oil. The wood ash used comes from burning wood shavings produced during the creation process, making the recycling of materials an integral part of this work. It expresses a state where the past and present, absence and presence, coexist in a single form. By placing a glass insert inside, the piece can also be used as a vessel for arranging plants.
