ケヤキの複雑に入り組んだ幹の部分から制作されています。力強く変化に富んだ木目や自然な起伏がそのまま活かされ、自然が生み出した彫刻のような存在感を湛えています。天面にはガラス塗装を施してあるため、オブジェや花台、飾り台などとしてはもちろん、中国茶を愉しむための茶台としてもおすすめです。
ケヤキならではの重厚な存在感が魅了です。

This piece is crafted from the burl of a large Japanese cedar (Sugi) tree grown in Mie Prefecture. In this region, cedar with an exceptionally high resin content is known as Abura-sugi (""oil cedar""), prized for its rich fragrance and unusually high density.
Burls are formed as a tree's natural defense response to injuries caused by insects, animals, or fungal intrusion. As a result, the wood develops an intricate grain pattern unlike the surrounding wood, with dense, highly figured fibers and resin-rich structures. Each burl is entirely unique, shaped over time by the forces of nature.
Finished without any surface coating, the piece retains the cedar's natural texture and aroma. If oily foods are placed directly on the surface, they may leave marks, but with continued use the wood gradually develops a richer color and deeper patina. If you prefer to minimize these changes or use it as a serving piece, we recommend placing paper or leaves beneath food.
