牧由加里 MAKI Yukari / MY-26-15 響　hibiki

山口県・防府天満宮の御神木を用いて制作された作品。
木がもともと持つ曲がりを活かしながら、その形に沿って手を加え、造形しています。
自然に生まれた木の形と牧由加里の意思による造形が重なり、大きく湾曲するフォルムと、そこに生まれる滑らかな凹凸が印象的な作品です。表面は漆で仕上げています。

※作品の発送は、企画展終了後の10月15日以降となります。

This work was created using wood from a sacred tree at Hofu Tenmangu Shrine in Yamaguchi Prefecture.
Working with the natural curve of the wood, MAKI Yukari shaped the piece by adding her own interventions along its original form. The naturally formed shape of the wood and the artist’s intention come together in its sweeping curve and smooth, subtle contours.
The surface is finished with urushi lacquer.
