牧由加里 MAKI Yukari / MY-26-14 響　hibiki

山口県・防府天満宮の御神木を用いて制作された作品。
枝分かれによって生まれた木本来の形を活かしながら、その形に沿って手を加え、造形しています。
自然に生まれた形と牧さんの意思による造形が重なり、大きく湾曲したフォルムと量感が印象的な作品です。表面は漆で仕上げています。

※作品の発送は、企画展終了後の10月15日以降となります。

This work was created using wood from a sacred tree at Hofu Tenmangu Shrine in Yamaguchi Prefecture.
While preserving the natural form created by the branching of the tree, MAKI Yukari shaped the piece by working along its original contours. The naturally formed shape of the wood and the artist’s intention come together, creating a strongly curved form with a striking sense of volume.
The surface is finished with urushi lacquer.
