牧由加里 MAKI Yukari / MY-26-3 響　hibiki

山口県・防府天満宮の御神木を用いて制作された作品。
枝分かれによって生まれた木本来の形を活かしながら造形しています。表面は白漆などを塗り重ね、木の表情を残しながら独特の色合いに仕上げています。緩やかに曲がるフォルムと、白漆による複雑な色の濃淡が、やわらかく落ち着いた印象を与える作品です。

※作品の発送は、企画展終了後の10月15日以降となります。

This work was created using wood from a sacred tree at Hofu Tenmangu Shrine in Yamaguchi Prefecture.
While preserving the natural form created by the branching of the tree, MAKI Yukari shaped the piece by working with its original contours. Multiple layers of white urushi lacquer and other finishes were applied to the surface, creating a distinctive coloration while retaining the natural character of the wood.
The gently curved form and the subtle variations in tone created by the white urushi give the work a soft and calm presence.
