吉川和人 YOSHIKAWA Kazuto / YSK-7 欅のスツール１

欅（ケヤキ）のコブ材から制作したスツールです。
コブは、木が傷や菌などの外的要因に反応し、長い年月をかけて形成される特異な組織です。複雑にうねる木目や有機的な起伏は、一つとして同じものがなく、自然が生み出す唯一無二の造形美を宿しています。その豊かな表情を際立たせるため、表面を白く漂白する仕上げを施してあります。陰影や複雑なフォルムがより鮮明に浮かび上がるとともに、木の存在感を保ちながら質感を抑え、洗練されたモダンな印象に仕上げています。スツールとしてはもちろん、空間に彫刻作品のような存在感をもたらす作品です。

This stool is crafted from the burl of a Japanese zelkova (Keyaki) tree.
A burl is a rare growth formed over many years as a tree responds to external factors such as injury or fungal activity. Its intricate grain and organic contours are entirely unique, revealing sculptural forms created by nature.
To emphasize these remarkable textures, the surface has been bleached to a soft white finish. This treatment enhances the shadows and complex form while subduing the natural color of the wood, allowing the sculptural silhouette to take center stage and giving the piece a refined, contemporary character.Designed as both a functional stool and a sculptural object, it brings a distinctive presence to any interior.
